17/10/2007 - Franciscana at school Within the framework of the project ARENAS, children from San Nicolás school visited the beach nearby. The objective of this activity was to work with them about their coastal environment particularly about the conservation problems which coastal ecosystems have to face. In this visit we had the opportunity to observe a stranded franciscana dolphin (Pontoporia blainvillei). ARENAS leaders used this fact to talk to the children about cetaceans and highlighted the conservation problem that franciscana dolphin is having along their geographical distribution.
